My childhood, core memories, and first jobs all included cherry orchards. Growing up in Washington State on our family cherry orchard instilled some great hard working lessons but also the best memories. From picking up the prunings in the winter, swamping buckets behind the tractor for my gramps, riding in our old cherry red Ford pickup to deliver the cherries to the warehouse, to the lunches grandma would spoil us with during cherry season. June was always my favorite month and I got to eat all the cherries I desired. Now that my grandma, gramps, and daddy are all gone cherries are even more special to me.
